Glebe Assistance and Partnership program (GAPP) is part of St John’s Community Ministries.
GAPP has been operating for more than five years and offers a welcoming space in the community garden, where people can come and chat to the volunteer team and have a cup of tea or coffee.
From this GAPP space, we operate our Emergency Relief program, which offers a small amount of financial assistance to those who are facing hardship in our local community. This usually includes help with food or some bills.
More recently we have also started offering no interest loans to people on low incomes, through our NILS (No Interest Loan Scheme) program. For more information about NILS and for other NILS programs available outside of Glebe, visit.... nilsnsw.org.au
GAPP is also working in partnership with a local bulk billing psychologist who has recently joined our team. She is available for appointments on Wednesdays at GAPP and offers bulk billing in receipt of a referral from a GP.
There is also a Biblestudy group that meets after GAPP each Wednesday, at 1pm, beginning with lunch together - all are welcome.
If you are wanting an appointment with a community worker for emergency assistance and you live within the local area, please call the Church Office on 9552 4164 to make an appointment. Appointments for assistance are available on Monday and Wednesdays 10am-1pm.
